چکیده

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems promise a revolution in logistics and inventory applications. By means of wireless communication, a master device can detect and identify nearby electronic tags. Traditionally, the performance of RFID systems and their identification protocols has been analyzed for static configurations, that is, without considering incoming or outgoing tags, but just a fixed number of initially unidentified tags. However, many real scenarios cannot be consistently modeled that way. In this work we introduce a Markov model which allows us to study a dynamic RFID tag scenario, where a flow of tags is considered. This model can be used to compute the Tag Loss Ratio, which measures the ratio of outgoing unidentified tags to the incoming tags in the system, which is a critical metric in dynamic configurations. The analysis is carried out for two families of protocols used as medium access control in RFID, Framed Slotted Aloha and non-persistent CSMA. With the aim of validating the analysis predictions, we get simulation results, by means of a simulator. We evaluate a scenario similar to a real application, i.e. a mail control system based on RFID.

افزایش سرعت شناسایی در سیستم‌های RFID

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a new generation of automatic identification systems, based on wireless communication technology. In these systems all the tags using one communication channel to communicate with the reader. When two or more tags transmit their data to the reader simultaneously, their transmitted signals will collide. Resolving this collision has a direct impact on the ...

RSPAE: RFID Search Protocol based on Authenticated Encryption

Search protocols are among the main applications of RFID systems. Since a search protocol should be able to locate a certain tag among many tags, not only it should be secure against RFID threats but also it should be affordable. In this article, an RFID-based search protocol will be presented. We use an encryption technique that is referred to as authenticated encryption in order to boost the ...

Grouping Based Dynamic Framed Slotted ALOHA for Tag Anti-Collision Protocol in the Mobile RFID Systems

Dynamic framed slotted ALOHA (DFSA) protocol has been widely used in many RFID systems. According to the information from last frame (e.g. the number of idle, success and collision slots), DFSA dynamically adjusts the next frame size so as to reach higher identification efficiency. The process is known as tag estimation of DFSA. Similar to most existing tag anti-collision protocols, The DFSA in...

Novel Dynamic Framed-Slotted ALOHA Using Litmus Slots in RFID Systems

Dynamic Framed Slotted ALOHA (DFSA) is one of the most popular protocols to resolve tag collisions in RFID systems. In DFSA, it is widely known that the optimal performance is achieved when the frame size is equal to the number of tags. So, a reader dynamically adjusts the next frame size according to the current number of tags. Thus it is important to estimate the number of tags exactly. In th...
